Description

Food insecurity (FI) is a significant challenge for university students across the United States. Natural disasters, such as hurricanes, can amplify this issue, particularly affecting low-income individuals, including those attending university. While a variety of campus, community, and federal food assistance programs (FAPs) exist, students frequently encounter barriers that hinder their access to these resources. To address this, survey data have been combined with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis to pinpoint social and spatial obstacles to accessing FAPs.
