Plant micro technique
Description
Project Overview:
This project investigates the evolution and underlying anatomical mechanisms that allow plants to regenerate from leaf tissue. The study system is the Ledebouriinae, a group of plants within the monocot family Asparagaceae subfamily Scilloideae. Students will generate anatomical slides of plant leaf tissue, analyze the resulting anatomical slides, and analyze data using the R coding language.
Student Responsibilities:
Plant propagation; tissue sectioning; microscopy; plant anatomical identification and analysis; comparative phylogenetic analyses
What you will learn
plant anatomical micro technique; light microscopy; digital imaging; image analysis
