Description

Individuals who experience adverse childhood experiences may develop characteristics such as fear of rejection, seeking acceptance, and prioritizing others’ emotions. As AI becomes increasingly accessible as a method of emotional support, some individuals may perceive interacting with AI as less judgmental than talking to another person. This study will explore whether college students with ACEs report feeling more emotionally safe and comfortable disclosing traumatic experiences to AI. Understanding this relationship may provide insight into how negative childhood experiences influence the ways college students use AI to cope.
