Team Needs:
Preferred qualifications include prior experience with wet lab techniques in molecular biology, as well as strong skills in data entry, organization, and management. Candidates should also be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Description:
This project consists of processing samples—dead snakes, cloacal swabs, and fecal samples from live snakes—collected from collaborators to test for the invasive lung parasite. This includes dissections, microscopy, DNA extractions, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and data management. Additionally, the dissertation focuses on the impacts of pathogens on pygmy rattlesnakes, so Team Members assist with fieldwork and data entry for this aspect of this research project.
